Malasana is a "yogi squat" that requires deep flexion in the hip, as well as, stability while in external rotation at the hip and strength in knees and ankles. In this class we progress well starting with wide legged stance, finding hip mobility on our bank, and a supported core flow into lizard pose at a chair. Then, finally, Malasana. Props include a chair for more support and/or a bolster for ending relaxation.
